It doesn’t matter what’s on the agenda for the day or how busy we are. I always make sure we rise and shine with breakfast. I know I don’t feel well during the day if I don’t eat in the morning, and the boys are definitely more cranky if we skip breakfast. One in five children start the day without breakfast, but you can help by visiting Kellog’s Share Breakfast to learn more.
Any time I can save a little money on the things we eat most often, I’m happy, which is why Safeway’s new Buy 4 Get $4 is a great promotion for National Breakfast Week March 4th-8th. They’ve got lots of great items throughout the store on special. Just buy 4 of the marked items, and you’ll save $4 when you checkout with your club card. And this applies to all Safeway affiliate stores, too.
We recently went shopping at our local Safeway affiliate, Dominick’s, for some breakfast essentials. As you can see, Donovan was very excited that he got to help.

From the Buy 4 Get $4 items, we chose Honey Nut Cheerios, Maxwell House Coffee, International Delight Creamer, and some Lucky Charms since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up. Cereal is a breakfast staple at our house. It’s quick, easy, and Donovan will always eat it—other breakfast foods can be hit or miss with him, but cereal is always good. But, I like that General Mills cereals like Cheerios, and even Lucky Charms, are made with whole grains, are a good source of iron, and are easy to eat. Even on days when we don’t have time to site down at the table for a long time, I can still get Donovan to eat Cheerios from one of his snack cups.

At checkout, I used my Dominick’s Fresh Value card. Not only did we save $4 from the Buy 4 Get $4 promotion, but I also saved on the other things we purchased for a total of more than $9 is savings…all on things we usually purchase anyway. Overall, I was very happy with the trip.

And Avery very much enjoyed his first experience with Lucky Charms!

You can find all of the Buy 4 Get $4 items by looking for the tag on the shelves at your local Safeway store or Safeway Affiliate. Or, check out your local weekly sales flyer for my information. See all of our photos from our shopping trip on our Google+ Album.
