My boys are now almost 4 years old and 20 months old, but we are still trying different brands of skin care products to find something that will keep their skin healthy, doesn’t smell weird, and doesn’t have all kinds of toxic chemicals in it. Recently, we’ve been trying out Mustela’s newly reformulated Bebe line of skin care products including HydraBebe Body Lotion, 2-in-1 Hair and Body Wash, Facial Cleansing Cloths, Stretch Mark Care Oil, and Hydra Stick.
After doing 10 years of cutting edge research, Mustela applied their findings and recreated their line of baby skin care products to make them even safer and more effective. The ingredients are 92% natural in origin and now include Avocado Perseose for ultra hydration. And it’s great for kids with eczema like mine. I do have to admit that the scent of HydraBebe Lotion, Hair and Body Wash, and Facial Cleansing Cloths is not my favorite. I’m not entirely sure what it smells like, but it reminds me of something that used to make me ill when I was pregnant…I still have trouble with certain scents that set off morning sickness early in my pregnancies even though it’s been over a year and a half since I was pregnant! But, the lotion does keep my boys’ dry skin moisturized throughout the day. And the facial cleansing cloths are a quick solution to clean up little faces before bedtime.
I’m really, really loving the Stretch Marks Care Oil, though. It smells AMAZING! Like roses. And even though it’s an oil, it absorbs really quickly and is not at all greasy. My skin feels really soft and healthy after I use it. My two little guys left me with stretch marks on my abdomen…and, I’ll admit, on my boobs, too. I’ve only been using the Stretch Marks Care Oil for about a week, so I can’t yet report on long term results, but it’s a great product for hydrating my skin. I hope to see real improvement in my stretch marks by the time I’ve used the whole bottle.
I also really like the Hydra Stick with Cold Cream Nutri-Protective. It’s this little, compact stick of hydrating balm, sort of like a wider version of chapstick. I’ve been rubbing it on Avery’s cheeks periodically where he gets a little eczema and baby acne, escpecially in the dry winter air—it’s still basically winter here in northern Illinois. It keeps his cheeks protected from the cold and has helped keep his face eczema free. And it’s so small that it’s easy to keep in the diaper bag so we can take it on the go.
